My watercolor paintings vary in concept from series to series. But my art is how I represent underrepresented people. In 2020 my art shifted from a black beauty focus to strictly social justice. I was making art about how many other black people and I were feeling at the moment with the highlighted murders of Ahmuad Arbery, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, & Elijah McClain. Eventually, the outpour of rage, violence, and injustice became overwhelming. Right now, the focus is on life post-2020. Specifically black life. 2022 has been about living in the moment and focusing on the self, family, memories, and happiness. That is the direction I am taking my art.
